New Order/Run Run Run - Queen Elizabeth Theatre

New Order played this same venue twenty-five years ago, as part of the tour for "Technique." Although Peter Hook was missing this time, the current version of the band did a great job in rolling out the hits for the enthusiastic crowd.

The set list hewed closely to what had been performed at recent shows, with a couple of exceptions. "Isolation" was included early in the set as a fourth Joy Division song, adding to the encore of "Transmission," "Atmosphere," and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" that had been played at the Seattle show. These same four Joy Division songs had been played at last year's New Order show in Las Vegas.

For me, the biggest surprise in the set list was the inclusion of "Run Wild" from the "Get Ready" album. Based on the reactions of those around me, this song was not well known among those who came primarily to see "Blue Monday," "True Faith," and "Bizarre Love Triangle."

New Order/Run Run Run - Paramount Theatre

New Order was originally scheduled to play the Sasquatch Festival's July 4th weekend. Fortunately for fans in the Pacific Northwest, that Sasquatch weekend was canceled, and the band scheduled this show at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle to fill out their West Coast tour. It was a fantastic show, and a great chance for many to cross off a New Order show from their bucket list.

I was happy to see performances of the new songs "Singularity" and "Plastic." I especially enjoyed "Plastic," and I look forward to future releases that continue in that direction.
